I’ve been listening to two books on Audible — Dennis Prager’s commentary of the Torah. The first one is The Rational Bible —  Genesis, God, Creation, and Destruction.

I liked it so well that I bought the second one called,  The Rational Bible — Exodus, God Slavery and Freedom.

Prager’s analysis and commentary are insightful. He explains the Hebrew words and what they mean in the Jewish tradition. So much of our understanding of the Bible comes from the Christian churches that broke away from the Catholic Church or Church of England and none of them embraced the Jewish teachings or even the Hebrew language. I wish I could read Hebrew. We miss a lot. Hebrew letters and words incorporate meanings beyond the words. It’s good to get this perspective, and one way is by reading or listening to this commentary.
