I had a wisteria tree that cried when I sold my house. I know that sounds so stupid, but really, it dropped all its pods at once, popping open like party favors. At first, I thought it was a celebration, but later, I found out the new owners chopped it down.

I find that I have to read something spiritually uplifting every day. In fact, it is better if I do this in the morning before I pick up my laptop before I read my email before I begin to write. I also find that I get more out of my reading if I take notes, and my favorite note-taking method is a small moleskin book.

I could relate to this one on many levels. I don’t understand why I’m where I am, but I hope for a good crop of currents soon. We learn and receive revelation, “Line upon line, precept upon precept,” — I feel like Eve when she asked, “is there no other way?”  There is no other way.

“You thought you were being made into a decent little cottage: but He is building a palace. He intends to come and live in it Himself.” (C.S. Lewis, Mere Christianity)
