In my reading of the Book of Mormon, I became aware of how often the prophets reminded the people to keep the commandments. About 124 B.C. King Benjamin explained —

And behold, all that he requires of you is to keep his commandments; and he has promised you that if ye would keep his commandments ye should prosper in the land; and he never doth vary from that which he hath said; therefore, if ye do keep his commandments he doth bless you and prosper you. (Mosiah 2:22)

I thought about this quite a bit and decided to look more closely at the commandments — the ten commandments that the Lord gave His people. Lehi sent his sons back to Jerusalem to get the brass plates so he would be able to teach his posterity and hand it down to each generation. It was that important.

So today I watched Dennis Prager’s short explanations of the ten commandments and learned some new things — after all the Jews were the keepers of the record.
